ISTM 2015 partners with IHG in Davos

Delegates gear up for International Ski Travel Market in Switzerland

June 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Following the success of last year’s inaugural event in Kitzbuhel, Austria, International Ski Travel Market (ISTM) has announced that the Swiss alpine resort of Davos will be the next location to host the 2015 event.

Reed Travel Exhibitions, organiser of International Ski Travel Market, the ski industry’s premier travel and tourism showcase, has named the InterContinental Davos as host hotel for its March 2015 event.

The prestigious two-day forum is scheduled to take place over the 23rd and 24th of March 2015, with representatives expected from 100 European resort tourist boards and inbound ski travel suppliers, and 100 leading outbound ski tour operators. Given its continued prestige as a meeting place, Davos – which is renowned for hosting the annual World Economic Forum – is the ideal location for business representatives to converge.

Hoping to develop last year’s event, which saw attendees from 23 countries, the function is once again being organised by Reed Exhibitions, who have selected the brand new InterContinental Davos hotel as the setting. Opened in mid-December 2013, the InterContinental Davos is set to be the perfect host for the second ISTM. The property will officially accommodate the ‘Buyers’ programme, which includes top decision-makers from the ski industry, as well as selected international press, attending ISTM 2015.

The event will maintain the same effective format as before: intensive one-on-one meetings between suppliers and buyers, in a formal business environment. As well as pre-arranged meetings, the event will comprise of seminars, destination briefings and ample networking opportunities. To ensure proceedings run smoothly, all buyers and suppliers will be pre-qualified against strict criteria for participation from ISTM.

The 241-room hotel, which opened for the winter 2013/14 season, is situated close to the natural lake of Davos. The 2015 event will also coincide with the 150 year anniversary of winter tourism in the region, which first began attracting visitors to the Landwassertal Valley in 1865.
