Calling All Screeners and Providers to the CHAMPS Health Fair in Atlanta, GA!

ATLANTA - June 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Are you looking for a way to join a good cause and have fun while doing it? Do you have a desire to raise awareness and combat disease in your community? Come join us at the Annual Community Health and Men’s Promotion Summit!

The 2014 CHAMPS Health Fair event will be held on September 20, 2014 at the Georgia World Congress Center from 10 am to 3 pm in Building C (Rooms C111-C114). CHAMPS is a collaborative project with a consortium of private and public entities interested in addressing men's health concerns by raising awareness of the importance of early detection and disease treatment. These include the Fulton-Dekalb Hospital Authority, QDX Pathology, Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Emory Healthcare, Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Midtown Urology, Midtown Urology Health & Education Foundation, and many more.

Currently, the Community Health and Men's Promotion Summit is looking for volunteer screeners in the areas of taking individual’s blood pressure, drawing blood, checking for sickle cell sickle cell anemia, as well as dentists, ophthalmologists, psychiatrists, radiologists, oncologists, chiropractors, podiatrists, and primary care physicians. CHAMPS relies on the continued commitment of volunteers like you to continue the full circle of providing free screenings to those in need. Unfortunately, CHAMPS already has a provider for HIV screenings.

The Community Health and Men’s Promotion Summit (CHAMPS) is a nonprofit organization that works to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention concerning health issues for men, especially prostate cancer. The organization’s goal is to encourage men to make healthy lifestyle choices, as well as, address their healthcare needs. It exists to help eradicate lines that enable health disparities in this world to exist. Although it is a lofty goal they believe by providing this safety net it can pursue their mission on all fronts: education, awareness, and prevention.
