New cohort champions freelance elearning professionals

Content creators invited to work on a new collaborative initiative driving elearning projects and opportunities.

PRLog - Jun. 11, 2014 - WOKINGHAM, U.K. -- mylearningworx is to lead a new cohort designed to bring its crowd sourced elearning solutions to the freelance community. The initiative will enable independent providers such as project managers, instructional designers and developers to offer new services and access new opportunities through mylearningworx’s crowd sourcing approach. The first cohort event will take place on 9 July 2014 in central London.

Since its launch in 2012, mylearningworx has partnered with some of UK’s brightest elearning professionals through its worxsmiths programme. This has seen a recent increase in uptake as demand grows for the specialist skills involved in creating effective and engaging content.

In response, mylearningworx is leading the worxsmiths’ cohort to connect providers across all areas of elearning, including instructional design, script writing, graphic design, content authoring, development, project management and strategy.

Attendees at next month’s event will become founding members of the cohort and will gain:

- Opportunities to work for new clients searching for new elearning programmes
- Easy access to talented people with the right skills to deliver elearning projects
- Discounts secured on authoring tools, platform, image libraries and more
- Free or low cost training on new tools and technology
- Support for hosting and showcasing skills and content

Martin Belton, mylearningworx managing director comments, ‘Independent elearning producers have for some years now been the unsung heroes of this industry. In other creative businesses, such as the film industry, the directors, producers and script writers are justly famous. We think it’s time that elearning producers also started to enjoy a little more recognition for their work, if only across our own small sector. Being part of the cohort will enable freelancers to retain the benefits of being independent, but with the support and recognition that a bigger group can provide – that means extra bandwidth, resources, costs savings and of course more opportunities.’

The free event is being held from 10.30am – 2.30pm on Wednesday 9 July 2014 in Covent Garden in London. Registration is now open at http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/worxshop-tickets-11734579443
