Hidden View Farm: Landscape Class Paints En Plein Air
Hidden View Farm welcomed 15 artists from Anne Arundel Community College to paint "en plein air".
Anne Arundel Community College offers a 3 credit course called "Landscape Painting" (ART281). During the summer, this course lasts four weeks and the students paint at one location per week. Under the instruction of charismatic and talented local artist, Richard Niewerth (Professor Emeritus, Anne Arundel Community College), the artists painted "en plein air" at Hidden View Farm in Crownsville, Maryland.
Hidden View Farm offers several features particularly favorable to art classes such as a superior location with tremendous diversity (formal/informal gardens, woodlands, estuary), a unique lily pond surround ( waterfall, bridge, lily pond, surrounded by formal gardens) a la' Giverny (Monet's Garden), and suitable small group meeting facilities (parking, facilities, etc).
Hidden View Farm is a private property, conserving greenways as part of the Maryland Trust and the Scenic River Trust. Visits by classes are by appointment only (Tues/Wed 10am to 2pm). No individual appointments can be granted.
