Sunlight Lanterns Sent To Typhoon-ravaged City

HONG KONG, China - June 10, 2014 - PRLog -- (Hong Kong) Six months after the most powerful typhoon in the history of the Philippines pummeled the central Philippines region and Tacloban City, officials say having regular work and a permanent home is still a priority for thousands of survivors. The Department of Social Welfare and Development continues to distribute 14-day supplies of staple foods to more than 280,000 families, of which over 10,000 are still without permanent housing and are living in huts or makeshift homes without electricity or running water.

To address the needs of those still without power or a constant source of light, Sunlight Lanterns, through their partnership in the region with Hahn Distribution, have sent their waterproof and solar powered LED lanterns to the area to assist those in immediate need. "The typhoon left thousands of people here in the Philippines stuck in temporary shelter without access to electricity and light.
