Antellus Registers The Trademark

LOS ANGELES - June 10, 2014 - PRLog -- The trademark "Antellus", owned by author Theresa M. Moore, has been registered by the US Patent and Trademark Office dated June 3, 2014. There have been no challenges filed to this registration.

In 2013, the CEO and primary author of Antellus found herself faced with a problem. Cybersquatters based in China declared their intention to conscript web suffixes she had not purchased and also to take the Antellus imprint and trademark for their own. The web registrar representing them asked that she buy all known suffixes from him in order to "secure" the primary web site.

After a flurry of emails exchanged between her and the registrar, Moore balked, and began the process of registering the trademark in the United States to prevent any future extortion or conscription of her properties. "You can imagine my shock and complete anger at this boldfaced attempt to steal what I have worked hard for and earned for decades," Moore said. "I had already bought three other suffixes in order to prevent this, but they wanted all foreign suffixes as well as any others which might crop up in the future. After notifying the FBI and also the UN Council on Website Security, I forked over quite a bit of money to register the mark. I am gratified that the USPTO has seen fit to grant the registration, because it represents a step up in the growth of my business and my dedication to producing quality books for sale to serious readers. Any future attempt at extortion, conscription, or to damage my imprint and publishing operations will be met with swift and immediate legal action."

Antellus was established in March of 2006 and has been the publishing imprint for all of Moore's books. The trademark was made permanent in 2007. Books published by Antellus are available in book stores and online featuring the trademark on the spine and back cover.
