PRLog - Jun. 10, 2014 - NEW YORK -- For release:  June 20 and thereafter

Topic:  Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy

Hello, summer.  Now is so not the time to rush about, pick it up or worry.  Sultry weather is for lying down on the job and letting dreams percolate and slowly steam to the surface.

That’s what genius does.  That’s what the bard of the Mississippi advised. “Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow,” counseled Mark Twain.

You can find this gem and hundreds of other shining reasons to kick back in “SLOTH: Ode to Disarray and Delay” by right coast (east coast) humorist Dale Burg now---at long last--- available in e-book form.

It’s a read of the season---except there are almost as many funny full -color illustrations as there are witty words of wit to make it beach-blanket friendly.  It’s a delightful book to  read aloud and pass around and make your friends smile, even laugh (if laughing is not too much trouble) without running down the battery on a favorite device.

Chaos Theory is, after all, the organizing principle of the universe. As John Ciardi quipped, “The day will happen whether or not you get up.”

You may recognize the Sloppy Joe as a lazy sandwich but you need Burg’s funny-bone manual to view the Pablo Picasso collection of tatty clothes for slatterns and other sloths.   Or to learn that the best way---statistically speaking---to profit from stocks is to buy a few, then go to sleep for a very long time.

Ms. Burg set a brilliant table of genius inventions born from mistakes and of amazing accomplishments from folks who rarely strayed from their beds, plus many-more not too taxing examples of the benefits of eerily extended deadlines and good-natured lolling about.
