Utopia Living and Linked UP Church Presents Celebration of Fathers and Male Mentors at Piedmont Park

June 10, 2014 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, GA - June 9, 2014. Utopia Living in partnership with Linked UP Church will present the First Annual Father’s & MENtors’ Fun Day in the Park on Saturday June 14 at 8:30am. In celebration of positive male leaders, mentors and fathers, the celebration will feature a variety of engaging activities that include Father's Day appreciation exercises, relay races, obstacle courses and exciting giveaways. The event focus is to honor the significance of fatherhood while creating memorable moments for Fathers as well as male leaders in the community.

Created for individuals of all ages, parents are encouraged to bring their children, adult children are encouraged to bring their parents and male leaders are also encouraged to participate as mentors for the day. At the 10th Street and Charles Allen entrance to Piedmont Park, registration will begin at 8:30am and activities will start at 9:30am. The flat rate tickets are $15.95 for a family of up to 3 individuals and $19.95 for a family of 4 or more. 50% of all proceeds support sending underprivileged youth to "Relentless Youth Summer Camp". A breakfast on-the-go will be provided and is included with the admission fee. Giveaway sponsors include Titus Sports Academy, Monkey Joes, Regal Cinemas, Dave and Busters, Wells Fargo and Area 51. Additional partners include Chef Rob’s Caribbean Café, Black Men’s Dossier, The Resource Guild, Costco & Party City.

Confirmed Speakers & Guest Appearances: Stevie Baggs (Health & Wellness Ambassador for the City of Atlanta), Pastor Joel E. Gregory (Linked Up Church), and Trenell Harris (Author Poet), Candace Edwards (Miss Black Georgia 2014).

Field Day Itinerary:
• 8:30-­‐‑9:00am: Registration and 'ʹBreakfast on the Go"ʺ
• 9:00 -­‐‑ 9:45am: Empowerment Speakers, Giveaways/Door Prizes
• 10:00am – 11:30am activities: Let the games begin (field day fun & fitness, relay races, obstacle courses, and engaging activities for children and adults of ALL ages)
• Relay races will include: 3 Legged Race, Potato Sack Race, Egg Toss, Balls in the Bucket etc.
