Habitat for Humanity of Tuolomne County partners with PACE Certification Inc

MIAMI - June 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Miami, Fla., June 10, 2014 /News release/ -- PACE Certification Inc. Florida, the leading provider of Residential, Commercial, Hotel and School Certification in the US, today announced it has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Tuolomne County to certify all its existing and future energy efficient affordable housing projects. This is a major milestone for PACE Certification and signifies a new era credible, affordable and verified environmental certification.

The National PACE Certification Program began as a way to recognize thousands of energy- and water-efficient commercial and residential buildings that funded their improvements through one of the many PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) programs available in more than 30 states, 100’s of counties and 1000’s of cities throughout the United States.

For the many commercial and residential buildings that have already invested in renewable energy and environmental improvements without PACE funding, the simplicity and affordability of this credible non-profit Environment Certification make it the ideal way to recognize their accomplishments. Partnering with groups that create efficient affordable housing, energy companies, and those groups that promote wind and solar for schools, has allowed us to certify homes and K-12 schools at no charge. We are especially proud of our work with Habitat for Humanity because it allows us to promote Tuolomne County’s valuable work.

These programs are proving to today’s property owners and tomorrow’s leaders that the return on environmental investments is not only financial, but has major benefits for our economy, health and national security.

Betsy Harden Resource Development Manager for Habitat for Humanity in Tuolumne County says they are presently building an energy-efficient, solar-powered subdivision called Parrotts Ferry Village in Sonora, California. Included in the subdivision will be 35 single-family homes that will be built over the next 5 years. Groundbreaking for Parrotts Ferry Village was held in August 2011 and completion of the first duplex occurred in April 2012. In 2012, HFHTC was selected as the only California-based affiliate to receive funding for Habitat for Humanity International’s Home Builders Blitz 2012.  With the generous support of California Gold Development Corporation and numerous local sub-contractors, the second duplex was completed on June 29, 2012. Harden shared, “Currently we are in the process of completing homes 9 and 10 and are always looking for volunteers to help us build.  Tasks vary daily and include all aspects of construction including: framing, roofing, siding, trim, painting, installing doors and windows, and landscaping.  Most of these tasks require many hands, both skilled and unskilled. We need a team of volunteers to help us build these homes. Please come and be a part of that team!”
