Blood Donation At Creta Maris Beach Resort

HERAKLION, Greece - June 10, 2014 - PRLog -- On June 6th, Creta Maris Beach Resort organized a blood donation day. The management and staff of Creta Maris Beach Resort fully supported the cause by participating. There were a total of 40 participants. The donation was held under the auspices of Venizelio Pananeio-General Hospital of Heraklion.

The donation is a tangible social contribution, which is very important for the family of Creta Maris Beach Hotel, as evidenced by the immense participation of employees οf the hotel. This year for the first time participants who wished had the opportunity to donate bone marrow making one more step to help a person in need.

The Blood Donation program began in 1992 when the management team of the hotel noted the lack of blood in hospitals especially during the summer months and called on staff for voluntary donations. The strong response of staff resulted in the annual establishment of the blood donation program and in the creation of a Blood Bank in Venizelio Hospital of Heraklion. This serves dozens of surgeries and serious incidents which Hotel employees and first grade relatives also have access to when needed.

Creta Maris Beach Resort belongs to Metaxa’s Group of Companies and has been operating since 1975. It has a capacity of 680 rooms, suites and bungalows, 6 restaurants, 7 bars, 7 swimming pools, gym, Hammam spa, Asterias Children’s Club, and many places for outdoor and indoor activities for children and adults.
