NORCROSS, Ga. - June 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Employees at STW Technic, a Norcross, Georgia, based premier manufacturer of mobile controllers, telematics and measurement technology, continued their tradition of giving back to their local community through their third annual Habitat for Humanity Workday and contribution benefiting Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity.

STW Technic (www.stw-technic.com) employees worked on a variety of tasks, including preparing footers and posts for decks and installing the deck boards, as well as wrapping the house for protection against moisture and humidity.  The day went by quickly as the manual labor was quite exotic and refreshing to people who generally work in an office in front of a computer all day.

The event supports STW Technic’s values of supporting the local communities they operate in while helping team building within the organization. Bob Geiger, President of STW Technic, said, “STW Technic’s parent company in Germany, STW, has a long history of public service and giving back to the community, so it is only natural that we continue that tradition here in the U.S. The team has enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity in the past couple of years as it has allowed us to donate not only money but also our time and labor. Doing the work and learning the story behind the family we are building for gives us a stronger sense of involvement and serves as a team building exercise as well.”

Brent Kandetzki, an STW engineer, finds the work very gratifying: “I think the most rewarding part of volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is that you get to see your efforts produce tangible results.  From when you begin the day to when you finish, you can see how much of a change you’re helping to make in someone’s life.”

Lynn Weekley, Volunteer Coordinator, Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity, added, “Contributions from midsized companies like STW not only benefit Habitat for Humanity by helping us continue our mission to provide basic, affordable housing for working families; but they also help build the community by strengthening neighborhoods. We deeply appreciate STW's willingness to be a repeat volunteer company in our efforts to partner with families in need to provide them a decent place to live.”

STW (www.stw-technic.com) is an award-winning provider of a full spectrum of freely programmable controllers, I/O modules, pressure sensors and telematics to a wide range of industries such as mining, construction, agriculture and oil and gas.  STW controllers, I/O modules and Telematics units have attained a leading role in these industries due to their rigorous testing, high quality German engineering and unmatched flexibility. All of STW’s products are mobile off-highway rated. STW is also in the forefront of developing and prototyping hybrid drive technologies – generators and motors – for mobile applications.
