The focus of the webinar was to introduce Los Angeles area hotels to the L.A. Green Lodging Program; highlight the importance of operating as a sustainable business in the 21st century; and emphasize the numerous benefits of participating in the program, which include cost savings from greater energy efficiency, reduced water and energy use, reduced solid waste disposal, improved supply chain management, and the tremendous marketing benefits of being certified as a “green” hotel. Mr. Peacock’s presentation in the webinar detailed the steps participating hotels will take as part of the certification process and the support resources available through the program. In addition to Mr. Peacock, the webinar speakers were Patti MacJennett, Board Senior Vice President, Business Affairs of the L.A. Tourism and Convention Board and Arthur Weissman, President and CEO of Green Seal, which provides the certification under the program. David Hodgins, Executive Director of the L.A.
