Black River Imaging Unveils Non-Flash-Based Online Ordering Software

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - June 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Black River Imaging now offers online ordering, making them the first professional photography lab to provide their customers with an alternative to traditional software downloads. "Historically, professional photographers had no choice but to download and wade through tedious software to order professionally printed products," says Elise Ellis, Social Media Coordinator with Black River Imaging. "But in recent years, the pro market has expanded to include part-timers and 'prosumers' who are already accustomed to easy, online ordering."

"Expecting this new cadre of photographers to download clunky software is antiquated," says Ellis.

The new software also addresses another, more modern problem -- mobile devices and Flash incompatibility. Web ordering software has been around for a while, but software such as Mediaclip is Flash-based. "Our online ordering is not Flash-based," says Ellis, "so it runs on Apple mobile devices, like iPads and iPhones, as well as Macs and PCs."

The convenience of the new software is not just limited to Black River Imaging's professional photographer customers. The benefits are also available to those same photographers' clients as well, who can use the software to order anything from traditional prints to custom photo greeting cards.

"It’s so easy, in fact," says Ellis, "that those pros who 'shoot-and-refer' (i.e. only sell their images and do not provide products) can confidently recommend our site to their own clients, who can then easily purchase pro-quality products themselves."

Initial feedback has been very positive. Users of the new software have called it “very intuitive." Says one user who was satisfied with the software: "I can put a product into my cart in a minute or two, without reading a single direction."
