November 26, 2013 – Meet Aja Hannah, a Curiosity Quills published author and writer-extraordinaire. The young debut author first released Zarconian Island in March 2013. Now she announces plans for a trilogy, with a sequel, Zarconian War, to come in 2014. Zarconian Island: An Atlantean Rebirth The premise of the story involves a re-write of the Atlantis myth that’s filtered through generations of our history. Hannah’s novel takes place on Earth, present-day – though as if hundreds of years ago, the people of Atlantis were shunned and eventually died out, leaving only remnants of their ancestry and infrastructure. The Zarconians, the mixed-blood Atlantean race, were feared and thought to be the reason for mysterious sunken ships and kidnapped children. Now, as a human with Zarconian blood in her veins, Alexandra “Attie” Hotep battles her ancestral duty and her own survival, possessing powers she knows link her to the lost race. Zarconian Island features some of Hannah’s favorite aspects: unexplored waters, a pre-historical resurgence, and the strong yet unobtrusive female lead. Zarconian War Revealed Officially confirmed as the first novel of the Zarconian Trilogy, the Island plans a complete re-edit with a stunning new series cover to come In second installment, Zarconian War, hundreds of years after attempting to extinguish the Zarconian race, humans declare war on the people of Atlantis, and Attie is once again tossed in the middle of a conflict between her ancestry and her destiny. Aja Hannah: An Author with a Penchant for Paleontology Hannah has been writing for years—since second grade, to be exact. Upon realizing that being a writer is in fact an occupation, Hannah focused her attention on her imagination, and her ability to turn the dreams and ideas in her head into fascinating adventures on paper. The novel was originally inspired by Dr. Franklin’s Island by Ann Halam, which is loosely based on H.G. Wells’ The Island of Doctor Moreau. Originally from Maryland, Hannah graduated from Seton University with a B.A. in creative writing and journalism. Currently she lives in Hawaii—though her travels have taken her all over the world. As a child, she knew she wanted to be a writer, although she would have settled for a career in the fascinating world of paleontology.
