Local Funeral Service Celebrates 10th Year Anniversary With Four Days Of Community Service

NEW ORLEANS - June 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Professional Funeral Services is celebrating their 10^th Year Anniversary by sponsoring Divine Foundation, Inc.’s “From There to Here” four-day action-packed weekend of community service events from Thursday, July 31, 2014, to Sunday, August 3, 2014.

Joining this year’s celebration to benefit at-risk youth are GRAMMY^âAward-winning singer Fantasia, R&B/Soul-winning artist Eddie Levert and vocal powerhouse Rachelle Ferrell. This year’s events will feature a parade to Professional Funeral Services’ new location, 2 fundraising concerts (http://www.eventbrite.com/o/divine-foundation-inc-6478289799), a back to school extravaganza with give-a-ways for parents and students and a Jazz/Gospel brunch.

Previous events have been nothing short of successful. Past years’ community concerts featured unforgettable performances by Stellar Award-winning vocalist Tamela Mann, GRAMMY^âAward-winner Hezekiah Walker and Gospel singer and pastor John P. Kee.

Since its inception, Divine Foundation, Inc., has strived to improve the socioeconomic condition of at-risk youth in New Orleans through entrepreneurship and financial literacy training, academic support and community service. This non-profit has provided financial assistance to single mothers with a GED and pursuing post-secondary education through its Alicia N. Jones Scholarship. Not only has it led countless youth community activities such as toy give-a-ways and blighted home clean-ups but it also gave away more than $15,000 in scholarships to deserving high school students.
