The Paddock restaurant was a family owned and operated restaurant and bar. It featured Italian, American and Portuguese cuisines, as well as pizza, calzone and sandwiches. Although The Paddock had been in existence for over 20 years, Michael and Colleen DaCova bought the restaurant from the Wakeley family in December of 2007 and the restaurant had been operating under their management since January of 2008. Upon the closure, former Paddock chef-owner Michael posted on Facebook that he wanted to "thank everyone for their patronage through my years at The Paddock Restaurant. As of Friday night, July 27, 2012, I will be hanging up my Paddock chef jacket and moving on to a new chapter in my life." reported the Somerville Patch (http://somerville.patch.com/
