Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps To Hold Family, Friend & Media Day on Saturday, June 14, 2014

SCRANTON, Pa. - June 5, 2014 - PRLog -- June 3, 2014.   The Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps announce that their “Family, Friend & Media Day” will be held at Lake Lehman Junior/Senior High School; 1128 Old Route 115; Dallas, PA 18627 on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M.   At this event, the Skyliners will unveil the first public performance of their full competitive field show, “A New Dawn, a New Day.”

They warmly invite all families, Skyliners Alumni, friends, and local media to join us on this special day.  In addition to the premiere performance, the corps will hold a beginning-of-the-year parent meeting, meet with local media, and make refreshments and food available for attendees.  Although admittance is free, the Skyliners welcome donations of gas cards, store cards, or other funds to assist us in our return to the DCA Field of Competition!

The Skyliners, a competitive DCA (Drum Corps Associates) drum and bugle corps, relocated to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania area this year and have been rehearsing at Wyoming West Valley High School since November 2013.  Most of our members hail from local high school and college music programs, and most of our instructional staff live and teach locally.  However, members also travel from England, Michigan, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

The Skyliners are part of the New York Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps, Inc., a 501c3 not-for-profit organization.  The organization was founded in 1945, and has long been dedicated to the performance and excellence in the field of competitive drum and bugle corps.  The Skyliners are being sponsored by the Michael Steiner American Legion Post #411 in Jessup, Pennsylvania and by the Garbarina-Mazarakos American Legion Post #1523 of New York City.
