Cub Scout Pack 109 Presents 780 Pounds of Food and $520 To The Bonita Springs Assistance Office

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - June 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Bonita Springs, FL— First through fifth graders in Cub ScoutPack109 organized a food drive at the Publix at Pelican Landing on May 17 that yielded 780 pounds of food and $520 in cash for the Bonita Springs Assistance Office (BSAO). The donations were presented to BSAO on Friday, May 23. Cub Scout Pack 109’s mission was to collect food or financial donations from Publix customers, holding empty bags that read, “Scouting For Food.”

         Scout Pack leader Sheila Ercolani stated, "Not only would I like to thank Publix (Pelican Landing) and the parents and scouts who volunteered their time, but also the patrons of Publix who were so generious in helping us collect so much food and made a substantial financial contribution to BSAO as well!

         “We are thrilled that these young kids decided to come together and support their community through BSAO. We are so thankful for their hard work, diligence and willingness to serve,” said BSAO Executive Director, Marjorie Kassell-Johnson.
