SSE Telecoms’ Partnership with Zayo Helps to Win an Award

June 4, 2014 - PRLog -- The new partnership of SSE Telecoms and Zayo has already proven to be the winning combination after swooping the ‘Fixed Network Infrastructure Innovation’ Award.

The award was collected at the 2014 Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards in London, where the partnership was recognised for the parts they have played in ‘Project Edge’.

Project Edge, an ambitious programme designed to improve network coverage throughout the UK, launched back in November 2013. Over the last six months, the companies have added 54 new capacity Points of Presence (PoPs) within key centralised business locations.

The partnership enabled SSE Telecoms to benefit from Zayo’s expertise in dark fibre provisioning, as well as their ability to design and build large scale infrastructure networks, efficiently. Britain’s largest and most demanding enterprises have been able to benefit from this move and can choose from a host of high capacity services.

Just last month, SSE Telecoms launched ‘Edge Plus’, which has enabled them to bring Project Edge to a close as well as being able to introduce 100 per cent coverage across the UK for their Ethernet services.

The partnership of Zayo and SSE Telecoms will continue to work well for the Telecoms industry and this is one of many awards the pairing hopes to win.
