Hidden Cash Craze Coming to Carlisle Events During Ford Nationals Weekend

CARLISLE, Pa. - June 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Social media has been a buzz as of late with an anonymousman placing hidden envelopes of cash at various locations around California.  The craze has gained momentum with similar acts taking place in Texas, Colorado, Florida and with Al Roker on the Today Show.  Now, just days in front of the 2014 Carlisle Ford Nationals, Carlisle Events is climbing on board, but in a public manner.  The event, which runs June 6-8 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds will not only host over 3,000 cars and 50,000 enthusiasts, but now thanks to the @HiddenCash Twitter phenomena, will also host 40 different envelopes filled with cash.

The automotive excitement will already be at a fever pitch when the first clues are released via the Carlisle Events Twitter page (@CarlisleEvents) as well as the Facebook page (@FordNationals), at 7 a.m. on opening day (6/6).  Not long after, those onsite and those within downtown Carlisle, can begin piecing together clues to find the envelopes.  Call it giving back or call it simply having fun, Carlisle Events ownership was eager to share in the fun with everyone who has long supported the company.

“We’ve been in business for 40 years and 40 envelopes seemed like a great idea,” noted Carlisle Events’ co-owner Bill Miller, Jr.  “I know we always talk about being able to give back and while we frequently do in a direct manner via donations, this time around, we wanted to have some fun with it – create a buzz if you will  -- on the grounds and within the community.”

How much money are Bill and Lance Miller offering this weekend?  Only the winners will know for sure because each envelope contains a random amount.  In addition, envelopes may be anywhere on the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds or in designated areas of downtown Carlisle.  Those locations will be limited to High St. between Pitt St. and Bedford St., Hanover St. between Locust Ave. and Pomfret St., and Pomfret St. between Hanover St. and Pitt St.

Further, clues specific to each envelope will be pushed out hourly via the aforementioned Social Media pages of Carlisle Events and supported by #HiddenCashCarlisle.  Multiple tweets may occur within the hour and/or clues offered may reference multiple envelops, both onsite and within downtown Carlisle.

“We want everyone in the area to have a blast this weekend,” added co-owner Lance Miller.  “I haven’t seen Bill this enthusiastic in quite some time.  We both encourage everyone to play along and find the cash.  Remember, Carlisle Events is run by family, we’ve been part of the community since 1974 and this is our way to give back and say thanks.”
