June 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Your friends mean well. They want to encourage you to have fun with all the hours you spend at work. However, our friends can encourage us to spend more money than what we have. Under financial pressure, our budgets can bust and we can be left feeling stressed and low on cash.

We have all experienced some sort of financial pressure, even when it is not intentional. Maybe you went window shopping; just try something on for fun to then being complimented about this new outfit. These compliments make you feel good so you cave in and simply had to purchase it. It might have been a few casual drinks one evening. This results in constant drinking in the early hours of the morning. You had a good night out...until you check your receipts from the night before and see the hit your bank account took.

After the shock spending money unintentionally, you decide to get serious about your finances and really tighten up your purse strings. It is then stressful declining invites from your friends to go out for dinner or grabbing a few drinks.

When reflecting, you spent the money you had meant to save because it is no fun to say no and strictly say ‘I am on a budget.’

Our friends enable us, persuade us, make us feel jealous and in worse case scenarios, take advantage of can influence you and even their personal habits and this can lead you ashtray from your big personal goals if you are not careful.

Therefore, what is the best action to preserve our budgets without totally shutting out our friends? Corner Rock gives some advice.

Change how you hang out. When your friend asks if you want to shopping, have an alternative in mind where there is less temptation to spend money. Invite your friends out for a coffee for a low key afternoon or a trip to the cinema. Individuals at Corner Rock find this works better particularly with their busy weekly schedules. As many have their personal goals to reach, saving money is important to them and they recognise this by making the little sacrifices. These only have to be short term and when looking at the bigger picture, once a successful business owner, you can go shopping whenever you want.

Plan a night in. True friends don’t need to go out every time they get together. Try having regular dinner parties and take turns hosting. To keep costs down further, ask everyone to contribute to the dinner. This way it spread the cost. Corner Rock knows weekends are the time for down time, so why not enjoy that time with your friends and have those dinner parties. This way, you get to spend time at home and relax well as having your friends around you. True friends will recognise you are busy and on a budget and they too will sacrifice things so that it balances out.

Don’t use praise as an excuse to spend. Of course you would get excited with your friends complimenting you and encouraging you to wear it for the next party. Praise and positivity is great to hear, but that is not a justification for spending money you do not have. At Corner Rock praise is good and does encourage individuals to treat themselves to something little every week if they hit their goals. However, this is not an excuse to go crazy with your spending .Make it known to your friends that the excitement will not put money in the bank. Long term saving will allow you to go shopping as much as you want.

As much as we love our friends, sometimes it is not great when it comes to the finances. Remember to live within your means and save. This is only short term. This will prevent you getting into financial difficulties that can take a long time to settle. Set yourself your goals, save money and make yourself a great future!
