ALLSTON, Mass. - June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Unbound Visual Arts, Inc.,  the new 501(c)(3) non-profit educational and charitable corporation, based in Allston-Brighton to enliven the creative economy for artists and art supporters, is very pleased to announce the opening of Song Cycles at the Honan-Allston Library Art Gallery. The exhibition features a wide variety of music-inspired art by seventeen (17) Unbound Visual Arts member artists: Jean Aserkoff, Joanne Desmond, Marian Dioguardi, Pheobe Ann Erb, Angela Fiori, Amy Kelly, Heidi Lee, Pauline Lim, Grace Luk, Brenda Gael McSweeney, Jaclyn Meyer, Nadia Richman, Laurel Rogers, Julia Siegelman, Christine Winship, Regina Valluzzi and Ellen Zellner.  The exhibition is curated by Julia Ryan. This exhibition aims to convey the pervasive nature of music as an agent that can permeate all moments and media.  Music in its most elemental form is a language of symbols, guiding the viewer and participant toward understanding of a work. When reduced in this way, one finds that music and fine art easily, and frequently, converge. In her selections, Curator Julia Ryan is representing the many ways one can interpret music through painting, sculpture and photography, whether that be through vibrancy of color, undulation of form or literal experience.

A public reception with the artists and refreshments, sponsored by Unbound Visual Arts and the Friends of the Honan-Allston Library is Wednesday June 18th from 6:00 -7:45 pm.  The exhibition runs from June 4 through July 31, 2014 and is open Monday and Wednesday Noon - 8:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 - 6:00 pm and Friday and Saturday 9:00 - 5:00 pm.
