Learning Resources® Celebrates 30 Years of Growing Imaginations

VERNON HILLS, Ill. - June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Learning Resources, Inc., a Vernon Hills, IL-based company, is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this June. Family-owned since its inception in 1984, Learning Resources started doing business from a single room in Highland Park with two employees and today sells its award-winning educational toys and hands-on learning products in more than 80 countries.

Kicking off festivities on the company’s anniversary date of June 6th, Learning Resources is hosting its 2nd annual lemonade stand during National Lemonade Days, raising funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for pediatric cancer research. The stand, staffed by employee volunteers, will be open June 6 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at 375 N. Fairway Drive in Vernon Hills. Those unable to visit will be able to make a donation through the Learning Resources’ website (www.LearningResources.com).

The anniversary celebration continues with the popular Learning Resources Tent Sale taking place on June 6-7 and June 13-14 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Visitors can stock up on educational toys and classroom items at prices up to 80% off. The Tent Sale will also be located at 375 N. Fairway Drive.

During the tent sale, the company will be offering a limited edition 30th anniversary version of one of its most popular items, the Pretend & Play® Calculator Cash Register to commemorate their commitment to creating the best products to spark a child’s imagination and inspire learning.

To further mark this important event in real Learning Resources “style,” Learning Resources associates will be volunteering later in June at Feed My Starving Children (located in Libertyville, IL) where they will hand-pack meals for malnourished children, destined for shipment to more than 70 countries. The company intends to sponsor additional community activities throughout the year to celebrate its anniversary by giving back.
