ScottMadden to Sponsor and Present at EUCI’s Conference

ATLANTA - June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- ScottMadden, Inc., one of North America’s leading energy consulting firms, is pleased to sponsor and present at the EUCI 12^th Annual Conference (http://www.euci.com/events/?ci=2324) which is focused on rate design strategies for meeting regulatory objectives. This event, being held June 22–23 at the Denver Marriott City Center in Denver, Colorado, will examine the pros, the cons, what’s worked, and what hasn’t in this "bottom-line" component of a utility's business model.

Chris Apple, director at ScottMadden, will present, “What Are the Regulators Looking For?” This session will summarize the results of the forum and engage conference participants in a dialogue on those topics.

Rick Starkweather, partner and regulatory practice area leader at ScottMadden, will partner with Dan Hansen, vice president of Christensen Associates Energy Consulting, LLC, to chair the conference and facilitate discussions amongst the participants, including moderating speaker panels at the end of each day. These interactive sessions will allow conference attendees to ask questions about any rate design presentation, issue, or problem. Attendees will:

- Learn what the industry experts think about their specific issues
- Gain knowledge and insights into the industry’s problems
- Obtain advice and direction for their next rate case or initiative

Additionally, Mr. Starkweather, Mr. Apple, and Timothy Zeldenrust, vice president of PowerPlan, Inc., will present a post-conference workshop, “Improving Regulatory Outcomes: A How-to Guide.” This session will examine how utilities have streamlined their rate case development and filing processes, reducing errors, improving cycle times, and achieving better regulatory outcomes.
