KIDS AND CODING - Mindteck Academy Sponsors Coder Kids Harrisburg

ENOLA, Pa. - June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Harrisburg, PA–June 3, 2014: Mindteck Academy, the IT training solution of Mindteck, a global product engineering and IT solutions company with US headquarters in Enola, PA, announced its upcoming sponsorship of Coder Kids Harrisburg, a non-profit volunteer local organization that encourages children aged 7-17 to develop interest in all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Mindteck Academy, a cornerstone of Mindteck’s corporate responsibility We Care endeavors, is committed to fostering careers in technology.  Military veterans, recent college graduates, displaced workers and other members of underserved groups who qualify as trainees, learn technology skills required for gainful employment.  Utilizing both classroom-based and online methodologies to educate, the Academy has successfully trained over 70 recruits in coveted technologies such as .Net and Java over the past three years. Going forward, Mindteck Academy plans to continue to offer these popular courses in addition to newer technologies such as Python, Ruby on Rails, iOS, Android and Cloud.

Mindteck Academy realizes the importance of not only strengthening our current pipeline of technology workers, but appreciates the dire need to introduce STEM technologies to our nation’s youth, the mission of Coder Kids Harrisburg.  As is stated on Coder Kids Web site, “While we are focusing broadly on technology, it's clear that computer programming has become a critical skill for the next generation, so our major emphasis in on learning and exploring computer science and programming. No programming knowledge or experience is required.
