Galaxy Counseling Center Always Offers Anger Management Group Sessions

Garland TX….Galaxy Counseling Center Always offers anger management groups to self-refer and court mandated adults. Anger management sessions help clients to learn new constructive ways to express their feelings thus helping them to gain control of their lives.

Anger is unpleasant and when a person fails to control it, a simple emotion can escalate into a variety of larger problems, from health issues to violence. A Johns Hopkins Medical School study, confirms that young men who reacted to stress with anger were three times more likely to suffer from coronary heart disease (CHD) before the age of 55 than their peers who said they let stressful situations roll off their backs.

“It’s really important for people to focus on their anger and know how their feelings affect others. After our class, our clients would be able to recognize and express their anger appropriately and try to solve the problem, instead of causing one.” said Jason Carter, Galaxy Counseling Center Clinical Director.

The anger management classes that Galaxy provides, focuses on increasing understanding of anger, teaching strategies that effectively deal with anger, promoting positive communication and teaching coping skills.

Classes are small with no more than 8-12 people.  All classes are facilitated by highly skilled therapists who lead classes in constructive conversation and also help clients define productive coping mechanisms. A series of sessions include about 10 classes, more are available as needed.

Class meets on every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and cost $25 per session.

Galaxy Counseling Center provides affordable mental health services for children, adults and families. The agency operates from two locations, one in Garland and the other in Plano. The range of services includes play therapy, psychological testing, individual, couples and group therapy.
