Blog Talk Radio Presents Barbara Morrison

WICHITA, Kan. - June 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Starting out in a Seattle Hospital, Dr. Morrison had an opportunity to observe the infancy and study the routine work of infant care. On Monday, June 2, 2014, Dr. Barbara Morrison will be a guest on Blog Talk Radio where she will be sharing with her listeners about Kangaroo Care, as well as her background and what highly influenced her to help new mothers. Dr. Morrison assists hospitals and community agencies deal with pregnant women and the care of their infants. Currently, there is a demand for practitioners and researchers to help mothers to teach to breast feed!

As a distinguished professor, Dr. Morrison teaches nursing students on pregnancy related topics. There are many courses she teaches, which include the development in breast feeding and human lactation. Through her developmental stages of the programs she is starting, she acquired the idea of “Kangaroo Care”. Kangaroo care and breast feeding are ways to support babies to feel comfortable. There is a bond between mother or father and infant; providing skin to skin care, holding an infant chest to chest are just an example of a step in kangaroo care! Dr. Morrison will be sharing with her listeners in further detail about Kangaroo Care and how it is beneficial to her patients, helping them to develop healthy and loving babies! She will also be discussing how through research and study of the hormones associated with breast feeding, Dr. Morrison discovered that we are doing a disservice to the infants and ways we can improve.
