Anu Lazarre wins hearing on behalf of former employee of Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc

NEW YORK - June 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Attorney Anu Lazarre, an associate of the law firm Imbesi Christensen, successfully represented a former employee of Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc. ("Merrill Lynch") who was initially denied unemployment benefits by the Department of Labor.

The Honorable Lauren Chatterton issued an award in favor of the firm's client after an in-person hearing was conducted.  The decision overruled a determination by the Department of Labor that the employee was not entitled to unemployment insurance benefits because he separated from his employment without good cause.

Specifically, the decision set forth the following:

DECISION: The initial determinations, disqualifying the claimant from receiving benefits, effective March 6, 2014, on the basis that the claimant voluntarily separated from employment without good cause, is overruled.

The claimant is allowed benefits with respect to the issues decided herein
