STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - May 31, 2014 - PRLog -- Uplifting the Honor of Women the Light Bearers of Humanity is the theme of the 10th Annual Mother/Daughter Banquet hosted by the Muslim Women Association of Little Rock, Arkansas an educational and charity organization. The event brings multi-generations of girls and women together to share valuable information and inspiration. This years keynote speaker is Hadayai Majeed, one of the co-founders and administrator of the Baitul Salaam Network, Inc.-International a 17 year old domestic violence awareness organization headquartered in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Ms. Majeed is a sought after public speaker for events such as this one in Little Rock. She is one of the 1,000 Peace Women (www.1000peacewomen.org) a group that was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. Her work with organizing and advocating for the rights of women in general and Muslim women in particular are well known throughout the Islamic community and the world.

The Muslim Women's Association of Little Rock is well known for its efforts in supporting the education of girls and women throughout the state of Arkansas. The group host seminars, workshops and charity events in their community. The association host the Mother/Daughter banquet to bring multi-generations of women and girls together to share valuable information and to inspire each other.

The Baitul Salaam Network, Inc.-International has assisted over 1,500 women and children with emergency housing, referrals for medical, legal and other necessary services (visit their web site at www.baitulsalaam.org) and other assistance to help them move forward and upward from being victims of abuse. The organization trains advocates all over the globe. Right now people they have trained are on the ground in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda in East Africa educating people about domestic abuse in the Islamic and Christain community and a Baitul Salaam group has been established in Ghana, West Africa. The group manages an outreach center and has distributed non-perishable food weekly to those in need for 14 years in the metropolitian Atlanta area.

The event is being held at the Wyndham Hotel Ballroom, 2 Riverfornt Drive in North Little Rock, Arkansas Saturday, June 7th beginning at 4 pm. tickets are $30 and some of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Baitul Salaam Network, Inc.International.
