Follow on Google News | Sixty Participants Attend Mental Health Educational Presentation at Flagler HospitalBy: Sma Behavioral Healthcare 386-236-1764 St. Augustine, FL – ‘A Choices in Recovery’ presentation on May 30th drew sixty people, both health care providers and those effected by mental health issues, to Flagler Hospital St. Augustine. Sponsored by the St. Johns chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAM)I, Stewart-Marchman- Michael Fuller, M.D. was the guest speaker. Dr. Fuller is a psychiatrist, and is Associate Professor and Director of Psychiatric Forensic Services at the University of Texas - Galveston. The program provided educational support on mental health recovery for people living with schizophrenia, schizoaffective, and bipolar disorders. Dr. Fuller also offered tips to prepare for and minimize the possibility of relapse. Attendees asked questions at the end of the presentation including how to educate family members on an illness when you have one so that they may better understand how a relapse may occur.
