NEW ORLEANS - May 30, 2014 - PRLog -- One Picture Saves a Life (http://www.onepicturesaves.com/), a national campaign to change the image of pet rescue and adoption,is hosting a workshop at Louisiana SPCA (http://www.la-spca.org/)on June 28, 2014. The workshop is free and open to the public and shelters.This event is part of a multi-city tour that brings pet industry celebrities together to increase pet adoption. The tour’s goal is to raise awareness about the impact that good grooming and an engaging intake photo has in helping pets find a forever home.

With 73 percent of adoptions starting online, an animal’s photo is often the best chance it has for being adopted. At each tour stop, the celebrity team will host a workshop for shelter staff and local volunteers that teach key grooming and photography techniques to raise adoption rates.

The workshop will showcase the talents of:

·       Seth Casteel (http://www.littlefriendsphoto.com/), award-winning photographer and New York Times Best Selling Author of Underwater Dogs

·       Jorge Bendersky (http://planetjorge.com/), celebrity dog groomer and expert, formerly on Animal Planet’s Groomer Has It

Armed with grooming tools provided by Wahl Clipper Corporation (http://www.wahl.com/) (WAHL), a leading manufacturer of personal care and animal grooming products, Bendersky will offer quick and easy grooming tips. Casteel teaches attendees how to capture photos that highlight the personalities and best attributes of each animal.

“Since launching the program in June of 2013, we’ve seen amazing results,” says Liz Baker, executive director of GreaterGood.org. “Animals that once waited months for an adoption are finding new homes within hours of their new photographs being posted.”
