Follow on Google News | PDA Virginia Endorses Del. Patrick Hope in VA-08 Congressional RacePDA Virginia chooses 8th Congressional District candidate from large field of candidates.
Del. Patrick Hope, founder of the Virginia Progressive Caucus is running in a crowded race against six other Democratic candidates. Appearing at the May 21st PDA 8th District Congressional Candidate Forum in Arlington, Del. Hope answered questions on budget priorities, Constitutional amendments (Citizens United, ERA and the right to vote) as well as the environment. "PDA is a multi-issue organization and we are always searching for candidates that are true progressives across a wide range of issues. It's much easier to be progressive in a couple of areas but we're looking at voting rights, healthcare rights, Constitutional pay equity, budget priorities and ideas that promote household stability" said Andrea Miller, PDA National co-Exective Director. Miller added, "Del. Hope is already comfortable identifying as a progressive while other candidates are not. He has agreed to join the Congressional Progressive Caucus when elected." Kristin Cabral, PDA National Advisory Board Member and Virginia resident, added, "Delegate Patrick Hope is at the forefront of promoting household stability for families in the 8th Congressional district as well as throughout the Commonwealth. He understands how vital it is to educate our children, have a good job, have affordable housing and affordable childcare." End
