PRLog - May 30, 2014 - Miami, Fla. -- More than 250 teachers, parents and students attended the 12 annual Fairchild Challenge Awards Ceremony for Elementary School students for the 2013/14 year on May 28 at 5:30 p.m. Currently, 273 schools and about 125,000 students in South Florida from Pre K-12 participate in the Fairchild Challenge, the award-winning multidisciplinary educational program and competition created by Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables.

The overall top scoring elementary schools were:
1st place - Air Base K-8 Center in Homestead
2nd place - La Scuola in South Dade
3rd place - Phyllis Ruth Miller Montessori Elementary in North Miami
