ABOUT AVIVA:

With humble beginnings as a nursery/day care for WWI orphans, Aviva has grown exponentially and today provides comprehensive therapeutic, educational, and social services to over 6,500 at-risk children, youth, and families each year to meet the growing needs of underserved populations in Los Angeles.

AVIVA’s PROGRAMS:

Residential Treatment:At-risk adolescent girls reside at Aviva’s Wallis Annenberg Center, where they receive therapeutic services, and a safe, supportive, and structured environment that addresses their social, emotional, behavioral, and educational needs.

Aviva High School: The only all girl’s special education school in the city of Los Angeles providing services to troubled adolescent girls.  95% of Aviva’s graduates go on to post-secondary education.

Community Mental Health Services – The Traveling Teams:Therapists and case managers go into the community providing services including: Mental Health, School-Based counseling, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Hollywood Wellness Center, Juvenile Justice, and the Gang Intervention Programs.

Early Childhood Services:Through Parent-Child Interactive Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy, Aviva helps ensure that even the youngest children (ages 0-7) and their families gain the skills they need for future success.

Foster Family and Adoption:Aviva’s Foster Family Agency and Intensive Treatment Foster Care find loving families for children who are among the most vulnerable and neglected in the county. As a licensed Adoption Agency, Aviva is also able to help make dreams of adoption come true for both foster children and parents.

ABOUT SHARON STONE:

Award winning actor, producer, director, writer, songwriter, activist, humanitarian, Sharon Stone has used her celebrity status as a means to make a valuable difference.  Her ceaseless energy for global causes, including her own foundation, Planet Hope, have raised countless hundreds of millions of dollars in many areas including improving education and care for children, finding an end to HIV/AIDS, relieving hunger and homelessness, helping victims of natural disasters, LGBT civil rights, and breast cancer research.  Among Stone’s many humanitarian roles, she has served as Chairwoman of amfAR’s Campaign for AIDS Research.

ABOUT HEIDI JO MARKEL:

Producer, actress, and humanitarian, Heidi Jo Markel, launched Eclectic Pictures with a focus on socially conscious, female driven films.  Besides her film work, Markel is a devout environmentalist and educational activist for youth having chaired fundraisers to benefit organizations such as WWF, Heal the Bay, Animal Alliance, Snoop Youth Football, etc.  This past year she has been working hand-in-hand with Aviva youth, and her film class has inspired many girls to pursue their passion in film.  Heidi Jo looks forward to her continuing work with Aviva, youth education, and her many environmental causes -making the world a better place, one child, and film at a time.
