New children’s book encourages fathers to read to their children

New children’s book by Trinda Latherow encourages fathers to take time out of their busy days to make a closer connection with their children by reading to them.

May 29, 2014 - PRLog -- Trinda Latherow’s new, children’s book, Letters from Dad, is just in time for Father’s Day. It has never been more important than in today’s hurried and ever-demanding world, when travel and technology have led to greater career focus than present parenting that we find the necessity to taking time out of our busy days to read to our children.

When US President Barack Obama was a young boy, the absence of his father created a deep and lasting longing in his life. Once stating in a Father’s Day address to the nation that, “I still wish that I had a dad who was not only around, but involved, another role model.” His father died in an accident, 11 years after he last saw the young Barack.

Latherow’s new book, Letters from Dad joyfully illustrates that the bond of love between a father and child cannot be broke by time or distance alone. Letters from Dad is for fathers and all those work long or demanding hours, travel, or live apart from their children and want them to know that love is what forever bonds them.

One reader reaffirms this by stating, “In our digital world, we seldom take time to share with our children the creative nature within. In Lak’ech (life), love is all there is.”  ~C.D.S., a reader

Indeed, it has never been more important than it is today, especially as Father’s Day fast approaches, to rekindle the loving bond between a parent and child. Letters from Dad is for fathers and all those who wish to make an even closer connection with their children through the drawings of one father to his youngest son not yet reading. Letters from Dad by Trinda Latherow features illustrations by her father-in-law, Harry Latherow, and is available in both print and digital formats.
