SQLstream Blaze Integrates Apache Kafka

SQLstream Blaze support for Apache Kafka merges standards-compliant SQL stream processing with Hadoop Big Data platforms on a single real-time, distributed messaging infrastructure.

SAN FRANCISCO - May 29, 2014 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO, CA – May 29, 2014 – SQLstream Inc., the leading standards-based stream processing software company, today announced support for Kafka, Apache’s messaging framework. Kafka can be used for high-performance distributed deployments of the award-winning SQLstream Blaze stream processing software, and for real-time integration of SQLstream Blaze with Hadoop and other operational systems.

Kafka is an open-source, real-time publish-subscribe messaging framework with the capability to support durable and resilient distributed stream processing applications.  Kafka’s support for data stream partitioning over multiple servers offers SQLstream customers an additional resilient infrastructure option for their multi-server, distributed SQLstream Blaze deployments.

“Stream processors are now driving real-time mission critical systems where massive scalability is required and any loss of data or system downtime cannot be tolerated,” said Edan Kabatchnik, SQLstream’s SVP Products & Engineering. “This initiative enables our customers to deliver against their real-time performance and reliability requirements, and to consolidate their SQLstream Blaze and Hadoop deployments on the same messaging infrastructure.”

With native distributed stream processing capability, and existing support for Apache Storm, AMQP, and ZeroMQ options, SQLstream is able to tailor its distributed architecture support depending on a customer’s preference and existing platforms. The result is resilient, distributed multi-server stream processing applications capable of processing time series machine data at rates of 1 million records per second per CPU core while generating real-time analytics with millisecond latency.
