This engaging documentary explores the U.S. immigration debate from a unique perspective. Instead of focusing on broad political viewpoints or the overall national impact of the issue, Roach decided instead to tell a story through the eyes of one undocumented family. Be prepared to be moved by Miguel Cortes, his wife and daughters as they struggle to hold on to their piece of the American Dream.
Roach lived and worked in Los Angeles for a number of years. While spending time in downtown LA, he began to observe the large Hispanic population. This led to further exploration and ignited a passion to bring awareness to the millions of families who have sought a better life in the United States. Through his journey, Ted Roach was inspired to create a film that told the true story of one family. When asked about said film, Ted states:
“120 Days is an observational, character-based documentary,"
