Patty Clisham accepted both the Spirit Award and the Bridge Builder award at the DUCTZ 2014 Annual Convention in Palm Desert, California. She was recognized with the Spirit Award for donations of services, time, and funds to organizations including Women in Business, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America local chapter, and sponsorships of community organizations. The Bridge Builder award singled out Clisham’s dedication to helping other DUCTZ franchise owners use best in class practices to help their businesses succeed.
"I am honored to receive these awards for the second time. Helping others achieve their goals is a privilege; being rewarded for those efforts is priceless," Clisham said.
Clisham joined other convention participants in a service project to construct 34 bikes for children whose parents are currently serving overseas with the 1st Battalion 7th Marines 29 Palms.
"I have never been in a more rewarding team building exercise in my career. Building those bikes as a team was fun. But presenting them to those families, including a little girl at the convention awards dinner, brought tears to our eyes. Giving back to our military families who help keep us safe was heartwarming and humbling," Clisham said.
Clisham started DUCTZ of West St. Louis, a certified Women Business Enterprise, to work with home and business owners to improve indoor air quality, to provide a healthier and safer environment with air duct cleaning, HVAC restoration and dryer vent cleaning. Air quality has become a major concern in schools, healthcare facilities, hotels and office buildings and DUCTZ technicians are trained to properly restore HVAC systems to a more efficient operation – this saves energy and replacement costs, as a more efficient HVAC system doesn’t work as hard and lasts longer.

DUCTZ is the nation’s premier HVAC Restoration franchise, providing Air Duct Cleaning and Dryer Vent Cleaning , adhering to strict guidelines put forward by NADCA and the EPA.
An Air Duct Cleaning can reduce asthma and allergy triggers as well as allow your HVAC system to operate more efficiently. Your furnace will push dirt, debris and dust into your home if there is accumulation in your ductwork. Especially after a flood or fire, it is extremely important that you have your air ducts cleaned so that microbial growth cannot adhere to the dirt and debris and be blown through your home or business.
Dryer Vents should be cleaned once per year. Be sure to clean your lint trap with each load of laundry, but lint gets past that trap and collects in the exhaust between the dryer and the outside of the home. That exhaust vent should be cleaned once per year to prevent damage to your dryer or a potential fire hazard. The warning signs you need to have your dryer vent cleaned are:
- Clothes (especially jeans or towels) are taking longer to dry or come out of the dryer very hot
- The vent flap on the outside of the vent does not open while dryer is on
- You are running multiple cycles on one load to get your clothes dry
- You have never had your dryer vent cleaned
