CEED program Women’s Business Enterprise Council – Great Lakes to provide Corporate Connections

Event will foster business growth and job creation by networking certified women business entrepreneurs with the procurement community to showcase goods and services

INDIANAPOLIS - May 28, 2014 - PRLog -- LIVONIA, May 28, 2014 – The Women’s Business Enterprise Council- Great Lakes (WBEC-GL), aninitiative of The Center for Empowerment and Economic Development commonly known as CEED, will offers its annual Corporate Connections events in Indianapolis, Indiana. Corporate Connections is an effective and focused half-day matchmaking event. Geared towards women business owners, it generates both corporate and business-to-business activity. Overall goal is to cultivate contract opportunities as well as provide a forum to track the effectiveness of new connections for certified women business owners.

The event will be held on Tuesday, June 10th at the Sheraton Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing, 8787 Keystone Crossing in Indianapolis, Indiana. Attendees will hear from Matt Greene, Assistant Manager, Supplier Diversity – Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America, Inc.

WBEs (women business enterprises) will have a priceless opportunity to receive instant feedback from corporate buyers and other women business owners. Additionally, attendees will cultivate contract opportunities.

“Corporate Connections provides WBENC certified WBEs with an opportunity to connect with Corporate representatives from our membership base. The setting allows firms to pitch their products and services as they prospect new business opportunities. In addition to Corporate Connections, CEED is also providing a WBE Forum and New WBE Toolkit Training which is focused on how to leverage and market your WBE certification.

Through the WBEC - GL, corporations and government purchasing programs are helping to bridge the gap in contracting activities between women business enterprises and corporate government buyers. WBEC- GL provides procurement opportunities and services for women across the state.
