Marabu North America Earns SGIA’s 2014 Sustainability Award

CHARLESTON, S.C. - May 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Marabu North America of Charleston was recently honored by the SGIA with the 2014 Sustainability Recognition Award. Six domestic and two international SGIA member companies received the recognition.

The SGIA Sustainability Recognition Program was designed to encourage adoption of sustainable business practices by SGIA member companies and to recognize the efforts of those who have successfully embarked on the journey.

To qualify, companies were required to submit a copy of their sustainability policy along with a description of their continuous improvement project initiatives during the past year.

Marabu established their main environmental project as achieving ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications for creating and applying Quality Management and Environmental Management Systems. In preparation for the audit, the environmental manager in each of the Marabu locations (China, United States, Sweden and Brazil) wrote a guideline that shows all environmental requirements, processes and documents in the local language.

Recently, Marabu North America was named one of South Carolina’s Top 20 Fastest Growing Companies for 2013, earning the 13^th spot in the large business category.
