Whether you are driving, taking the train or walking. These will help avoid the dreaded five words that come to mind when nothing goes right before 9:00AM: “This is not my day”.

CANARY WHARF, U.K. - May 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Whether you are driving, taking the train or walking, there are certain commuting essentials that can make life so much easier. These will help avoid the dreaded five words that come to mind when nothing goes right before 9:00AM: This is not my day”.  Corner Rock discusses how to help avoid little issues that can make a big difference to your day.

Firstly, carry a spare phone charger in your bag. There is nothing worse than starting a new day with a phone nearly dead. If you are unable to charge your phone the night before, this is the ideal solution. As a result of carrying a spare charger, you no longer have to worry about losing power at an inopportune time and stressing about how to contact people and check your emails. At Corner Rock phones are vital and work cannot be carried out fully and efficiently. Everyone is always told to ensure they charge their phone or carry a charger because you never know when you will get caught out. Don’t let something as simple as an uncharged phone ruin your productive day.

This one is more for the ladies: carry ballet flats! If you know you will be walking for a while then it is highly likely heels will be a killer! Although ladies love to wear heels, don’t try to be a hero at the same time! Carry your heels in your bag and quickly change them at work and then change into flats when it comes to home time. At Corner Rock image is important to everyone and in particular the ladies. High heels are very important to their image in our business. However, they are smart and travel to work in their flat shoes to help their feet be pain free.  This way, you save you feet and save wear and tear on your favourite heels!

Coffee. No explanation is needed here. Coffee is a great drink to wake you up in the morning or even as a boost throughout the day. Corner Rock knows that the mornings can be tough and suggests a morning coffee to help you snap out the drowsy feeling in the morning. Being groggy on a train to work is not great and worsens your mood. Not what you want when you turn you to work.

Carry a note book. It is great as you can quickly jot notes down if you know you will not remember them and can put ideas in them to help in building your career. If you have a day where you lack inspiration, you can look at your notes and remind yourself and this quite often then gives the help that you need. Notes are vital, particularly if you are going to be training people. It helps with organisation and shows you are serious about what you do. Corner Rock cannot stress this enough. There is so much to learn in one day and it is physically impossible to remember everything. It is even beneficial reading over your notes as this does help with your progression. Corner Rock cares a lot about everyone’s progression and loves it when everyone takes their work seriously.

Another vital object that can improve your day: an umbrella! One gloomy day can affect your day and it can be even worse if you get caught out in a torrential downpour. Umbrellas are so compact these days and do not take much room up in a bag. Quite often you forget it is in your bag until the next time it rains! Corner Rock knows that the English weather is unpredictable and everyone in the business has been caught out at some point by an unexpected downpour. There is nothing worse than turning up to work drenched due to no umbrella and you are cold for the rest of the day. Help yourself by bringing an umbrella!

Headphones. These are a helpful invention when it comes to travelling. It can help you zone out whilst travelling to help forget everyone around you. You can even listen to podcasts to help yourself. They take up little room and are ideal to block out noise when at work or even talk on the phone! Corner Rock encourages individuals to listen to podcasts on the train as there are many helpful ones out there that can help with your career. Take a look!

Last of all and most importantly, be smart with your time and organise yourself! Waking up late, having no ironed shirts or not finding your work bag can all lead to stress that can affect your morning commute, especially when it comes to train delays. Check the travel before you leave. There are plenty of phone apps that warn about travel delays. Check these as delays can make your day feel even worse. If you experience this and don’t do the above tips, your day will be disastrous and you will wish you didn’t have to work. Corner Rock cannot stress the importance of being smart and organising your time effectively. Don’t let your day be ruined by little things because these will make a big difference in the long run!
