Oponay Farms is located on the edge of Lake Hancock and is family-owned and operated. The land’s rich history stretches back to when it was settled during the Spanish-American war. Through the years, its rich soil and ecosystem has been well-preserved to provide visitors with a unique perspective of nature. Visitors can take an eco-tour, where they can observe and appreciate native wildlife including American alligators, rare birds and plant life. Lake Hancock is also home to blue tilapia and catfish.
Blueberries are one of the most healthy and enjoyable fruits to eat. Because of the warm climate, visitors are encouraged to wear light clothing. You can bring your own container and collect as many berries as you would like. Oponay Farms is home to Southern high bush blueberries. Visitors can also purchase their own individual potted blueberry bush, which makes a great addition to anyone’s garden.
