Department for Work and Pensions awards SAS Accreditation Contract to Auriga

LONDON - May 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Auriga Consulting Ltd (Auriga), the expert data, ICT and security consultancy, today announced it has been selected by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to supply the Security Assurance Services (SAS) Accreditation service. The proposed two year contract will see Auriga provide a fully outsourced accreditation service on behalf of the Ministerial Department. Auriga will also supply CLAS and secure business process modeling services to help achieve accreditation in line with CESG and Cabinet Office guidelines.

The DWP encourages a competitive bidding process to ensure access to the most innovative, effective and efficient suppliers available. The Ministerial Department selected Auriga based upon its innovative agile approach to information security, the scalability of its offering, value for money and Auriga’s reputation as a trusted provider to the public sector. The consultancy’s ability to offer a flexible adaptive solution to meet DWP needs, coupled with the added benefit of analysing and securing business processes, were also persuasive.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare and pension policy and is a key player in tackling child poverty. The DWP is the biggest public service delivery department in the UK and serves over 20 million customers. The DWP encourages suppliers to compete for commercial contracts and this approach ensures the Ministerial Department has the opportunity to select suppliers that have met the criteria have the best solutions on offer and provide value for money.
