PRLog - May 27, 2014 - CARLISLE, U.K. -- This book brings traditional Scandinavian ballads within reach, with an accessible English verse translation. The Scandinavian folk-ballad tradition left a substantial body of early literary material, recorded from ca 1600 onwards, but it remains largely unknown outside the Nordic countries. This new translation of ten of the ballads includes Twelve Strong Fighters, The Hammer Hunt, and Heming and the Mountain Troll, among others. This book could appeal to those with an interest in folklore, traditional songs, and medieval Scandinavian culture.
