Ramada Downtown Dubai - A Caring Host

AL BARSHA, UAE - May 27, 2014 - PRLog -- The Ramada Downtown Dubai has formalised a CSR policy with the UAE’s Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) with a memorandum of understanding that provides support throughout the year for activities organised by the society.

According to General Manager Samir Arora, under the hotel’s new Hope For Cancer initiative, the hotel will offer selected patients and their family complimentary accommodation to enable them to enjoy all the entertainment and excitement of the Dubai Mall, BurjKhalifa and other attractions in Downtown Dubai.

“In consultation with FOCP, we will be extending invitations to come and stay for free, offering half board plus tickets for an afternoon at Reel cinemas or a trip up to the top of the world’s tallest building, BurjKhalifa,” he said.

“As a hotel, what we do best is to provide comfort and hospitality so what better way to support the commendable work of FOCP than by offering cancer patients time away from home where they and their families can enjoy all the activities of Downtown Dubai, from the aquarium and underwater zoo to the ice rink, SEGA Republic and KidZania®at the Dubai Mall, plus the dancing fountains and the majesty of BurjKhalifa.”

The Ramada Downtown Dubai has already hosted a FOCP team lunch and will also be arranging cancer awareness activities and fund-raising for Hope For Cancer, a programme that has been welcomed by FOCP as a prime example of CSR activities.

FOCP is a charitable, volunteer-based foundation established in 1999 that provides financial and emotional support for UAE cancer patients, distributes information and runs programmes for prevention and early detection as well as workshops and free cancer screening.
