Set at the height of the AIDS pandemic in the 1980s, Jeffrey tells the tale of a young man of the same name. Living in New York, Jeffrey decides sex is too much and becomes celibate. After making the decision, he meets the man of his dreams, a man diagnosed with AIDS. Jeffrey must decide whether falling in love is worth the risk of a boyfriend dying. The play is populated with a cast of richly entertaining characters a theater-goer will never forget.
Jeffrey stars Sean Verdu in the lead role of Jeffrey. Jeffrey marks Sean’s second appearance on a Denver stage. His first performance was in the world premiere of “The Greater Good” as Carter, produced by the And Toto Too Theatre Company. Some of Sean’s other performances include Naz (Mercury Fur), Guildenstern (Hamlet), Cookie (Return to the Forbidden Planet), Heads (UBU) and Mr. Martin (The Bald Soprano). Within a couple weeks after Jeffreycloses, Sean will wed the love of his life.
"Jeffrey represents a production that everyone associated with Theatrix USA is very proud of. The production is both timely and topical. I have never had the opportunity to work with a more talented, professional cast," remarked Mike Broemmel, producer of the show.
