FREE Soccer Not Slaves App Goes Live!

Just in time for the World Cup - Mobile App celebrates football (soccer) and combats child trafficking in Brazil! Get it for FREE now!

RIO DE JANEIRO - May 24, 2014 - PRLog -- The world's most popular sport is football (called soccer in North America) and it attracts millions of viewers. Few nations are regarded as highly as masters of "the beautiful game" as the South American country of Brazil.

From 12 June to 13 July this year, Brazil will be the focus of the FIFA World Cup as the greatest football nations and hundreds of thousands of fans gather for one month of fancy footwork, amazing skills and mind-blowing goals!

Sadly, in addition to diehard fans of football (soccer), the beautiful nation of Brazil will also attract unscrupulous persons seeking to promote or engage in sex tourism and the sexual exploitation of vulnerable persons, including children.

As lovers of "the beautiful game" and protectors of children's rights, Caribbean Umbrella Body for Restorative Behaviour (CURB) is launching its FREE "Soccer Not Slaves" App to combat human trafficking in Brazil during the World Cup.

Since 2009, CURB has been engaged in combating the scourge of human trafficking in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean to which Latin American women and girls are often trafficked through deception or force to be exploited in the commercial sex trade.

The "Soccer Not Slaves" App provides an overview of the lovely country of Brazil and links to the best sites for football. It provided users with information about the World Cup cities, teams and schedule. In addition, users can view videos and photos of their favorite players and teams. There is also an interactive Chat feature where users can discuss the matches and favorite teams with other football (soccer) fanatics!

At the same time, the app educates users about the various forms of human trafficking which have been identified in Brazil and outlines how the country has been trying to combat it.

Further, the app allows users to take action by automatically placing a toll-free call to report suspected cases of human trafficking or child sexual exploitation they may witness while they are in Brazil for the World Cup.

Understanding that offenses involving human trafficking and child sexual exploitation are often extra-territorial in nature, CURB has included click-to-call numbers for other countries which may have nationals visiting Brazil for the World Cup.

A related feature allows for users to install a Word document which contains hotline numbers and email addresses for law enforcement and civil society agencies in multiple countries to which to report the crime.

Reports can be made by users traveling to Brazil to the number or email address in their home country so action can be taken against perpetrators when they return after the tournament. These nations include the USA, Canada, UK, Mexico, Switzerland, Portugal and Trinidad and Tobago.

CURB sees the Soccer Not Slaves app as an important educational tool for persons interesting in joining the fight against human trafficking anywhere. They have included in the app links to sites about human trafficking in various nations, videos on human trafficking and child exploitation, and Twitter feeds about the issue that users can follow.

The app has been translated into languages spoken in Latin America for greater penetration. The Spanish version of the app is called "Futbol por la Libertad" and the Portuguese version is titled "Futebol pela Liberdade". All three apps are available for free download in the Google Play store. Please search for them by name or by the name of the developer, Adrian Alexander, who is a director of CURB.

Smartphone users with non-Android devices can use the HTML5 version of each of the apps. These work on iOS, modern Backberry and other devices as well as on laptops, desktops and Mac.

The Soccer Not Slaves, Futbol por la Libertad and Futebol pela Liberdade apps were developed using the AppMakr4NonProfits DIY mobile app builder.
