The 23rd Annual Historic Savannah Foundation Gala will be sponsored by Audi Hilton Head

May 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Chatham Square in historic downtown Savannah is the place to be on Saturday, October 18, as the Historic Savannah Foundation holds their 23rd Annual Gala. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and will feature a sumptuous dinner and live music to benefit the important work being done by the HSF. A wide range of local business and community leaders, along with a number of prominent dignitaries, will be in attendance. Chatham Square is the ideal place to hold the 2014 HSF Gala. Nearly 50 years ago the Historical Savannah Foundation succeeded in preserving six historic buildings belonging to the area; they had been slated to be demolished as part of a plan to expand the Armstrong College campus. Known now as “The Big Save," the efforts of HSF rescued a core section of one of the most historically significant streets in Savannah.

The annual Gala is one of the most important fundraising events benefiting the Historic Savannah Foundation. All proceeds from the Gala go to support the organization’s many ongoing preservation initiatives, as well as their education programs, advocacy efforts, and community involvement. The HSF Revolving Fund has to-date saved over 360 historic Savannah buildings from demolition.

Tickets to the 2014 Historic Savannah Foundation Gala are priced at $225 for HSF members and will be available for purchase on June 30. For those who are interested in becoming an HSF member, the individual annual membership entry level contribution is $50.
