BALTIMORE - May 23, 2014 - PRLog -- The Center for Urban Families (CFUF) is now the recipient of a $15,000 grant from one of the world’s largest financial institutions, Bank of America. This workforce development grant will be used to support CFUF’s job training and placement efforts over the next year.

Bank of America’s Maryland and Baltimore market president, David Millman says he hopes that this support will help to further CFUF’s mission as a leading nonprofit in Baltimore. “Through its programs the Center for Urban Families is addressing some of Baltimore City’s most pressing problems, including unemployment, poverty and family breakdown,” says Millman. “We hope our support will help CFUF continue to improve the lives and futures of families and individuals who are struggling to achieve financial success and stability.” CFUF president and CEO, Joe Jones expressed excitement about Bank of America’s support and confirms that this gift will further CFUF’s work in Baltimore. Jones commented, “Because of Bank of America’s generosity, CFUF can grow its job training and placement efforts so that we can do more for our community.”

CFUF recently launched its $1.5 million Fund For Our Future campaign in recognition of its 15th anniversary as one of Baltimore’s leading human services organizations. The campaign will take place over the next 15 months. During this time, all donations made to CFUF will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Proceeds from the campaign will be dedicated to the support of existing programs, program expansion and support of the organization’s future infrastructure needs.
