Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and Co-Chairmanship of Justice (Dr.) Arijit Pasayat, Chairman, Authority for Advance Ruling (Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax) & former Judge, Supreme Court of India & former Chairman, Competition Appellate Tribunal of India. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vineet Mittal, Managing Director WEPL said “It is a proud day for us at Welspun Energy. We have been challenging ourselves by reengineering each practice to come up with the most effective way of setting up solar power projects. We have made our mark in the Indian solar industry with our Engineering, Procurement & Commissioning (EPC) initiatives. The modified module mounting structure is a great example of ingenuity by streamlining the structure than the usual industry design. The Golden Peacock award recognizes this key quality of the organization and drives us to bring ingenuity in our functioning and file many more patents.” Due to the innovations made, the project erection time gets reduced drastically with lower cost implications. Given its simplified design, the need for training or technological expertise required also reduces, leading to faster commissioning of solar projects. A fact that Welspun Energy has become synonymous with, its 151 MW (DC) Neemuch and 55 MW (DC) Phalodi projects had set benchmarks for being commissioned much ahead of scheduled deadline. Welspun Energy has so far commissioned over 328 MW solar and wind capacities and over 723.5 MW capacity is under construction. The organization envisions constructing power projects pan India, with existing projects located in high solar radiation and wind velocity zones like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Punjab.
